Cowboy Butter Jalapeño Poppers

  • 6 Servings
  • 10 minutes Prep Time
  • 45 minutes Cook Time

What sets these jalapeño poppers apart from all others? Okay we'll tell you! It's the Pit Boss Cowboy Butter BBQ Rub, that has just the right mix of butter, mustard, cayenne, and jalapeno to elevate any BBQ appetizer you've set your sights on.

Besides that, you know the drill. Fresh jalapeño peppers are stuffed with cream cheese and shredded cheese, then wrapped in a slice of bacon and smoked on the pellet grill for a bite that you won't forget.

Ingredients

Tools

  • Knife
  • Spoon
  • Toothpicks
  • Wire rack
  • Medium bowl

Directions

  • Preheat grill or smoker to 350°F.
  • Prepare your jalapeños by cutting each in half, length-wise. Scoop out any seeds or 'ribs' with a spoon.
  • In a medium bowl, combine cream cheese, shredded cheese, and BBQ rub.
  • Fill each jalapeño half with cheese mixture. Re-attach the jalapeño halves and wrap with a slice of bacon, slightly overlapping the bacon from end to end.
  • Secure with a toothpick in each side to keep the bacon in place. Sprinkle with more Cowboy Butter BBQ Rub and place on a wire rack.
  • Add poppers to the grill and cook for 45 minutes, or until the bacon is crispy and cooked through.
  • Let cool, serve, and enjoy!
