These smash burgers consist of not just 1, but 2 patties cooked to juicy perfection on the Pit Boss griddle, then assembled with homemade smoked bourbon bacon, sauce, lettuce, tomato, and onion. That's right, cancel your weekend plans— we already know what you're making!
If you haven't jumped on the smash burger train, it's time to get on! By pressing your patties with a burger press or with the back of a spatula, you get an evenly cooked burger with a juicy center and crispy edges.
Preheat your flat top gas griddle to a medium-high heat.
Divide the ground beef into 14 equal size meat balls, about 4 ounces each.
Melt butter onto the grill's surface and griddle each side of the buns until golden brown.
Evenly space out the meatballs across the griddle's surface. Place a 5"x5" piece of parchment paper on each burger and press down with a burger smasher until the meat is 1/4" thick.
Remove the piece of parchment paper and season patties with Bold Burger Rub. Repeat for all the meatballs.
After 3-4 minutes, flip the burger patties and top each with a slice of cheese. Let the cheese melt for 2-3 minutes.
Remove the burgers from the griddle and immediately assemble and serve.
The Perfect Order: First, add sauces of choice to the top and bottom of the buns. Place 2 patties on the bottom bun, followed by 2 pieces of candied bacon. Then, add lettuce, tomato, and onion before topping with the final bun.
