Planning pizza night? Start by firing up the wood pellet grill! This Grilled Supreme Pizza recipe shows you how to make pizza dough from scratch and bake it perfectly on the Pit Boss. It's also highly customizable, so you can pile on all your favorite toppings— the opportunity is endless!
Before you start: Since you'll be making the pizza dough from scratch, you'll need to account for 2 hours of rest time for the dough to rise.
Cooking method: While you can grill a pizza directly on your grill's grates, we always recommend pairing this dish with a Pizza Stone. A Pizza Stone is designed to distribute the heat evenly across your pizza crust for a more controlled cook. Tip: Always remember to preheat your Pizza Stone before adding the pizza.
In a large bowl, mix the water and yeast together. Let sit for 10 minutes, or until the yeast smells fragrant and is foamy.
Stir in the olive oil and salt, then mix in the flour. Knead the dough together until a rough ball of dough forms, then knead the dough for 7-10 minutes, or until the dough is smooth and elastic.
Place the dough ball in a large bowl, cover with a loose dish towel and let rise in a warm place for 2 hours.
When the dough has finished rising, remove it from the bowl, cut the dough in half and save for later
Roll the other half into a round. Place the round onto a pizza pan and begin to build your pizza.
Top with pizza sauce, then sprinkle with Pit Boss GSP or garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Top with cheese, peppers, onion, mushroom, olives, pepperoni and sausage.
Preheat your grill or smoker to 400°F. If using a pizza stone, preheat the stone at the same time.
Once grill is preheated, grill the pizza for 7-10 minutes (either on the preheated pizza stone or directly on the grill grates) until the sausage is fully cooked and the crust is golden and crispy.
