No Holiday table should be set without a palmier ready for the snacking! This savory pastry appetizer is made with Manchego cheese and green chiles for a cheesy smoky bite that everyone will love.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. roasted green chiles
  • 8 oz. Manchego cheese, shredded
  • 1/2 tsp cumin
  • 2 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 10x15 puff pastry sheets

Tools

  • Bowl
  • Knife
  • Sheet tray

Directions

  • Preheat grill or smoker to 375°F.
  • Mince the roasted chiles and add to a bowl with shredded cheese, cumin, oregano, and salt. Mix to combine.
  • Lay out sheets of puff pastry and evenly distribute the cheese and chile mixture between the two sheets.
  • Roll each side of the pastry into the middle, so that it forms a 'heart' shape.
  • Cute the rolls into 3/4" thick pieces. Lay the pieces flat on a baking sheet with space in between each piece.
  • Refrigerate the palmiers for 4-5 minutes before cooking.
  • Place the sheets on the upper rack of the grill and bake the palmiers for 10-15 minutes, or until golden brown.
  • Remove the trays from the grill and carefully remove the baked palmiers from the trays with a spatula. Allow to cool for 4-5 minutes before serving.
