Smoked cocktails are becoming increasingly popular, especially among hardcore grillers and smoke enthusiasts. With our smoke tube cocktail method, you can use the BBQ pellets you already have in the backyard to infuse wood-fired flavor into any of your favorite drinks.
Setting Up
Grab a smoke tube
Any smoke tube will do the trick! If you're planning on smoking multiple cocktails in one sitting, you might benefit from a longer or expanding smoke tube.
Choosing your pellets
We recommend using a fruitwood like Cherry or Apple for most cocktails. Or, opt for Post Oak or Mesquite for a bolder smoke flavor. Whatever your flavor and smoke intensity preferences may be, just ensure that you are using 100% hardwood BBQ pellets, like Pit Boss pellets, when smoking cocktails.
Chill your glasses
Place your cocktail glasses in the freezer for at least 20 minutes while you get everything ready. This not only helps to keep your cocktail cool for longer, but it actually helps trap in that precious smoky flavor with the added moisture.
The Smoke Tube Cocktail Method
Step 1: Fill a smoke tube with pellets of your choice.
Step 2: Light pellets until a small flame is established and the pellets begin to smolder and produce smoke.
Step 3: Infuse your chilled glasses with smoke by tipping and holding over the flame until the glass is filled with smoke. Optional: leave the glass face-down on your work surface until time to assemble for even more smoke flavor.
Step 4: Make your cocktail to your liking in your smoky glass, and enjoy responsibly!
