Whether you're serving this at dinner or date night, or just looking to make a quick meal for 2, this dish is sure to impress.

Ingredients

  • 6 oz. peeled black garlic or black garlic paste
  • 1/2 cup light soy sauce
  • 1/2 cup thick sweet soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 2 cucumbers, thinly sliced
  • 10 leaves fresh mint, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 oz. fresh basil, chopped with no stems

  • Avocados, peeled and sliced
  • Sesame seeds
  • Crispy wonton strips

Tools

Directions

  • GARLIC SOY SAUCE: In a blender, blend garlic, soy sauces, and water until smooth. Set aside.
  • CUCUMBER SALAD: In a bowl, combine sliced cucumbers, mint, and basil. Drizzle with rice vinegar and avocado oil, as desired. Set aside.
  • Preheat your grill to 500°F.
  • Season the fish steaks with BBQ rub and coat with avocado oil to prevent sticking to the grill grates.
  • Grill the seasoned steaks over an open flame, just until they've developed grill marks. Remove from grill or keep cooking until desired doneness. Let the meat rest for 5 minutes.
  • Slice the tuna and divide into 4 portions. Serve with sliced avocado and cucumber salad. Drizzle with homemade black garlic soy sauce and add wontons and sesame seeds, if desired. Enjoy!
